– Abdullah Hamad El-Mekhyal graduated from Kuwait University , faculty of Arts , the department of Social Studies ,in 1987.
– Head of the University Association for the Philosophical , Psychological and Social Studies.
– Member of the Kuwaiti Environment Protection Society.
– Member of the Association of Social Workers.
– Specialized in making films about deserts , Bedouins and the environment.
– Won the golden prize in the 3rd Cairo Film Festival, 1997 , for the documentary ( Masters of the Desert) and a Certificate of Appreciation for the same film at the Wild Screen festival in Britain. The film was shown on many western TV. channels in a many different languages.
– The director showed his film ( Masters of the Desert) and gave a lecture about it in the School of Oriental and African Studies ( SOAS ) , London , in 1998.
– Awarded the State Incentive Award by the National Council of Culture Arts and Literature for film directing , in Kuwait , in 2001 , for the film
( The Arabian Desert ).
– Won an award in the 8th Gulf Festival for the film ( Arab falconry ) in 2004
– Won the award of the Writers League for his distinctive accomplishments. And was chosen as the best cinema figure in 2004 through a poll by the Writers League.
– Honored by the Arab World Institute , Paris- France , in 2004, and all his films were shown in French.
– Member of the State Incentive Award Jury in 2005 and 2009.
– Won an award in the 9th Gulf Festival , 2006 , for the film ( The Sea of Sand )
– Member of Board of Trustees of the cultural centers at The Amiri Diwan.
